Here’s a link to an interactive light piece. Reminded me of what we were talking about with interactive light pools. I wonder how hard it would be to integrate sound or music as well?

Here is a Youtube Playlist full of art projects created with MAX/MSP.
http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=C071628ECCAEAAAE&search_query=maxmsp
Some are on a scale to grand for our purpose, but this one especially interested me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=neMqyjIhj_E&feature=PlayList&p=C071628ECCAEAAAE&index=2

I found this and thought it was friggin rad and potentially very useful for some of the things we aim to do. It is basically a blank button interface that can be ran with a large variety of programs i.e. Max MSP and run video, lights, etc. Plus, the company is incredibly eco sound and open source friendly. They sell kits with just the interface brain that we could hook up to large scale buttons for interactive.. interaction and light shows. K check it out:

haven’t tried it myself yet, but this three part youtube video shows how to do a really rad digital noise effect with video called datamoshing.
and here’s a music video that the guy in that video helped make using it.
Posted by rpattie on September 14, 2009 at 2:51 pm
This is awesome. I might use this for some projects.
Posted by broth2 on September 18, 2009 at 11:51 pm
I can see this happening in a big hexagonal “post-teepee” teepee dome.
Posted by brent on September 14, 2009 at 7:32 pm
these people turned a shopping cart into an interactive instrument using max/msp/jitter.
http://www.vimeo.com/4752098
i’m not really a big fan of the style, visually or musically, of this piece necessarily, but i like the idea of an audio and visual installation that could possibly be effected by viewers through a stutter-like effect.
http://www.vimeo.com/3124412
i don’t have an iphone, but here’s how you can link your’s to max/msp/jitter and ableton live.
http://www.vimeo.com/2216785
and i seriously, seriously recommend using vimeo for searching for these kinds of videos. it looks much better than youtube, and it tends to have radder stuff. i think.

WeAreCodec Website has some content up. I’m still waiting for the final flyer for our first event. I will update that as soon as I get it. Kelly and/or Jenny, the buttons are a bit jumpy. Maybe you can help with this on Monday?
Posted by jennifertemplet on September 28, 2009 at 9:27 pm
I’d love to help! I’m feeling pretty awful and sick so I’m not going to come to campus today but I’ll probably be on my laptop anyway so if you want to compress and send me the flash file I can help out for sure!

Hello all. Sorry I will not be able to make it to class today. Boulder Valley Schools are closed and I have my son. It’s pretty bad out here. I would like to work on the website. If anyone has pictures or some video from the zombie crawl pleae send them to me. I’d love to have something up today.
Posted by Valerie on October 28, 2009 at 3:34 pm
I also have connections with a charter school in Boulder for kids who have gotten in trouble and have been or are on probation. It’s a program to help them finish high school and stay out of trouble. I can contact them or the platte forum folks today if we think it’s worth it.
